i'm getting pretty tired of reading on the **intelligent dance music** list, that liking experimental music, having a vocabulary and being articulate are 'elitist'. i mean isn't the whole concept of this list elitist in that idm is separate from the (by implication) 'less intelligent' house, techno, hip hop etc it grew out of. as idm gets older, more and more releases are coming out that harks back to 'golden era' and i'm fine w/ that, the bola cd is a v. pleasant example. but if everything were like that this scene would end up as stagnant as indie or punk are now despite their beginnings as irritants to the mainstream. the day all idm sounds like it was made in '93 i'll be listening to something else. elitist as fuck ... -martin
